“Ball Jar with Brushes” By using ordinary objects as the subject matter, realism can bring awareness to the unique characteristics of light that normally goes unnoticed. This drawing of an artist’s equipment is actually a study of how light is refracted when it passes through glass and water. The resulting distortions and reflections become the essence of the subject. A step-by-step demonstration of this drawing is included in my new book "Drawing Realistic Textures in Pencil" published by North Light books.
