"Fooled" The idea of this drawing incorporates several layers of deception. The butterfly may have mistaken a photo of a flower for the real thing, and you, the viewer, may have been fooled as well, since the entire image is drawn - including the illusion of a photo. This pencil drawing was on
white paper using charcoal for the background, graphite for
the subtle shading of the rose and butterfly and a carbon
pencil for the masking tape and leaves.
