Trompe L'oeil Drawing

This drawing has received national recognition and several awards:

"Fooled"

The idea of this drawing incorporates several layers of deception. The butterfly may have mistaken a photo of a flower for the real thing, and you, the viewer, may have been fooled as well, since the entire image is drawn - including the illusion of a photo.

This pencil drawing was on white paper using charcoal for the background, graphite for the subtle shading of the rose and butterfly and a carbon pencil for the masking tape and leaves.
